Spanish speech to text — transcribe el audio, quédate el texto

Dictate in Spanish or upload Spanish audio — voice notes, meetings, interviews — and get clean, accented text in the Chrome side panel.

Spanish is one of Whisper AI's best-covered languages, across the whole map: Mexican, Colombian, Rioplatense, Caribbean, and Castilian Spanish all transcribe with accents and punctuation in place — including the opening ¿ and ¡ that autocorrect always forgets. Spanglish sentences keep their English words in English, which is exactly how you'd write them.

Two ways to use it

Record Spanish speech, or upload Spanish audio

Record your voice

Hit the mic and dictate emails, messages, or notes in Spanish — the transcript arrives with tildes and punctuation done.

Upload an audio file

WhatsApp voice notes, recorded meetings, interviews — upload MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, FLAC, or OGG.

Spanish transcription questions

Which Spanish variants does it handle?

All the major ones — Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Colombia, the Caribbean. Voseo, seseo, and dropped final consonants don't confuse it; the words come out right.

Does it add accents and ¿? punctuation?

Yes — tildes (á, é, ñ), opening question marks, and exclamation marks appear in the transcript automatically.

Can I transcribe Spanish WhatsApp audios?

Yes — that's the classic use case. Download the audio from WhatsApp Web (.ogg) and upload it. Walkthrough: Transcribe WhatsApp voice notes.

What about Spanglish?

Mixed Spanish-English speech transcribes naturally — each language stays in its own spelling within the sentence.
