Marathi shares Devanagari with Hindi but is very much its own language, and Whisper AI treats it that way — it won't drift into Hindi vocabulary when you speak Marathi. Pune, Mumbai, and Vidarbha accents all transcribe well, and the English that Mumbai Marathi absorbs — train, office, project — stays in English inside the मराठी sentence.

Will it confuse Marathi with Hindi?
No — auto-detect distinguishes them from pronunciation and vocabulary, and the transcript uses Marathi words, not Hindi ones. If a recording genuinely mixes both, the dominant language wins.
Does it output Devanagari?
Yes — proper मराठी in Devanagari script, including the ळ that Hindi doesn't use. Edit anything in the panel before copying.
Can I transcribe Marathi voice notes?

What about long recordings like lectures?
