French speech to text — transcrire l'audio en texte

Dictate in French or upload French audio — voice notes, réunions, interviews — and get clean, accented text in the Chrome side panel.

French makes speech recognition genuinely hard: liaisons blur word boundaries, and half the grammar is silent. Whisper AI untangles it — homophones like « parler », « parlé », « parlez » land correctly from context, accents and apostrophes included. Metropolitan, Québécois, Belgian, and West African French all transcribe well, and franglais keeps its English words in English.

Two ways to use it

Record French speech, or upload French audio

Record your voice

Hit the mic and dictate emails, messages, or notes in French — the transcript arrives with accents and apostrophes done.

Upload an audio file

WhatsApp voice notes, recorded réunions, interviews — upload MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, FLAC, or OGG.

French transcription questions

Does it handle Québécois and African French?

Yes — Montréal, Brussels, Geneva, Dakar, and Abidjan accents all transcribe well alongside Metropolitan French.

Does it get -er / -é / -ez endings right?

That's the classic French dictation trap, and context-aware transcription is what solves it — Whisper picks the right homophone from the sentence, not the sound alone.

Can I transcribe French voice notes?

Yes — download the note from WhatsApp Web (.ogg) and upload it in the panel. Walkthrough: Transcribe WhatsApp voice notes.

Are accents and cédilles included?

Yes — é, è, ê, ç, œ and the rest are written automatically, with French punctuation spacing.
